Children are not children for long today
The years fly by in the blink of an eye
What a rush to reach maturity
The latest fashion, music and gadgets
And the adults struggle to hold back time
The children of today need to remain children for just a bit longer
Children need time; time to develop and mature
And to be loved and cherished
Teenager:
I am old enough to know my own mind
I am old enough to make decisions for myself
I know everything I need to know
I know, I know, I know
Adult:
They are still so young these teenagers
I thought as a teenager I knew and understood the world
I thought I knew it all; how the world worked
I thought wrong, wrong, wrong
Teenager:
I listened to my teachers
I studied and worked hard
I gained more knowledge
I think I know what I should do

Adult
Listen to what is said
Ask if you don't understand
Don't just follow the crowd
Stand up for you believe
Teenager
I now know I could learn more
I now know I can experience more
I now know I can broaden my mind
And go on to do so much more
Adult
They could live a different life
They could experience a new world
They could travel afar and learn from others
And like me go on to do so much more
There is always hope for tomorrow
For that teenager was me

Daily Reflection
Education opens up opportunities. Bokiya wants to be a doctor when she finishes school.
Give 30p for the number of professions you wanted to be as a child. Give 50p more if it became true.
