Faith development resources

The following resources are designed to aid in the faith development of children and young people. Parents and leaders may find these resources useful.

Sticky Faith

Sticky Faith is a ministry framework and parenting philosophy backed by practical and proven ideas to help develop long-term faith in teenagers.

The Fuller Youth Institute (FYI) has conducted research into the best practices in youth ministries, churches, and families that can help set students on a trajectory of lifelong faith and service. FYI's research confirms that it's never too early or too late to start developing faith that continues to grow and lasts.

Sticky Faith gives parents and leaders both a theological and philosophical framework and a host of practical relationship and programming ideas that develop long-term faith in teenagers.

Rooted in the Church

Rooted in the Church offers a snapshot of what has helped the seeds of faith take root and grow in young people within the Church of England.

Alongside this, it signposts how congregations can make churches a more fertile place for the growth and flourishing of young Christians.

The report concludes that churches should aim to build a culture of intergenerational relationships; be inclusive of all ages in both leadership and worship; recognise young people and young adults as equal members of the Body of Christ; explore the possibility of admitting baptised children to communion before confirmation; become unconditionally welcoming places for young people; and support their youth workers and leaders.
