Drama Kirk invite people to their new performance this Saturday

Published on 10 May 2023

Drama Kirk returns to Hamilton this Saturday 13 May with their latest production 'Walk with the Word: Emmaus' by Louise Scott, which will take place in Chatelherault Country Park at 11am and 2pm.

A previous production by Drama Kirk.

The performance is a dramatised walk, where the audience will have the opportunity to encounter Bible characters from the period of the crucifixion to the ascension.

Director Liz Blackman says: "You will first meet the disciples in the aftermath of the crucifixion, as they grieve for Jesus; then experience the joy of the resurrection as they have various encounters with him - risen from the dead.

"This is a great opportunity for Drama Kirk to explore the 40 days Jesus spent on earth after his death.

"It's a very emotional time for his friends - is it really him? Is he back for good? Also, Jesus has a different focus. He has accomplished what he came to earth to do - he said it himself on the cross 'it is finished' - however, he comes back for this period to equip his disciples to build his church.

"It has been lovely to explore this period of scripture in greater depth than we do at Easter, and we are looking forward to sharing this exciting new project."

The route is short and flat so suitable for all abilities and is also dog, buggy and wheelchair friendly.

The walk will take less than an hour, with several stops along the way to experience the drama, all in the beautiful surroundings of Chatelherault.

Tickets are free but should be reserved via Eventbrite.
