Ascend

Ascend

Ascend supports, resources and develops those serving in ministry across the Church of Scotland.

Ministry can be rewarding, demanding and continually changing. Ascend provides practical resources, development opportunities and personal support to help people flourish in their calling and service.

It brings together information and opportunities for people at different stages of ministry, from those preparing for ministry and the recently ordained to those with many years of experience.

Supporting ministry and development

Continuing to learn, reflect and develop is an important part of ministry. Ascend helps people explore their development needs, deepen their knowledge and consider new approaches to their practice.

The Ascend website provides access to resources that support wellbeing and encourage continuing development, including events and courses, study leave, ministerial development conversations, retreats and more.

Through the Ascend e-news (sign up here), you can find an ever-growing library of relevant articles and reflections covering ministry, faith, leadership, mission and the changing life of the Church.

Pastoral support and wellbeing

Ascend recognises that those who care for and support others also need appropriate care and support themselves.

Through Ascend, information and guidance can be found on a variety of services available through the pastoral support team. These services provide different forms of confidential support, reflection and professional development, depending on individual circumstances and needs.
