Ian Gray

Ian Gray

Ian is a Gable Ender – he was born in Montrose and has lived there all of his life.

His Dad was the church go-er in the family and Ian tagged along in his early teens. He became the youngest elder in the United Free Church before joining the Church of Scotland when he married Celia.

Ian studied through the Training for Learning and Service (TLS) course with the Scottish Churches Open College, and was "set apart" as a Reader in 2000.

He fulfilled his calling as a minister when the readers were given the opportunity of ordination; after a year's further study with Aberdeen University he was ordained as an OLM (Ordained Local Minister) and is now attached to Montrose Old and St. Andrews Church.

He also works with Martin Fair in Arbroath St. Andrews, he is a locum to Dun and Hillside parishes and is Chaplain to Montrose Football Club.

Ian has two children, Jamie who is an at home dad in Montrose and Caroline who is a social worker in Glasgow.
