Structure of the Guild

National Council

  • Meeting four times per session, in conference and business sessions
  • One rep from each Guilds Together Group
  • Agreement of policy and constitutional issues
  • General Assembly Report
  • Overview of Guild's work
  • Appointment of General Secretary

Leadership team

  • National Convener and 4 National Vice-Convener each with a geographic responsibility and General Secretary, Associate Secretary
  • Meeting (typically) five times per session
  • Support for National Convener and General Secretary
  • Sharing and discussion between CORE areas
  • Staffing Issues
  • Budget creation
  • On-going review process
  • Development of policy
  • Initiative Fund
  • Recommendations on capitation fees

Communication & Marketing

The National Vice Convener with responsibility for Communications and Marketing will from time to time convene working groups of the National Council to discuss and make recommendations to the National Council on:

  • Merchandising
  • Newsletter
  • Website
  • Social Media
  • External Communications

Outreach

The National Vice Convener with responsibility for Outreach will from time to time convene working groups of the National Council to discuss and make recommendations to the National Council on:

  • Choice of Projects
  • Monitoring of projects
  • Receive reports from Guild representatives on a Church Council, Committee or affiliated group

Resources

The National Vice Convener with responsibility for Resources will from time to time convene working groups of the National Council to discuss and make recommendations to the National Council on:

  • Production of theme guide
  • Production of other resources as required

Events

The National Vice Convener with responsibility for Events will from time to time convene working groups of the National Council to discuss and make recommendations to the National Council on:

  • Oversight of all national events
  • Oversight of some local events

Typical National Council Meeting

  • 10.00 Arrival and tea/coffee
  • 10.30 Session 1 Worship and opening of business meeting of full Council
  • 10.45 Business of the National Council including regional groupings
  • 12.30 Lunch
  • 13.00 Completion of business meeting of Council
  • 15.00 Closing worship
