Webinar on worship

Woman praying

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, Rt Rev Dr Martin Fair, hosted a webinar on worship on Friday 26 June, 2020, along with Rev Rosie Frew, convener of the Kirk's Faith Nurture Forum.

More than 600 people attended the webinar, which was open to everyone with an interest in the worship of the Church. The discussion looked at the challenges and opportunities of the coronavirus lockdown and how congregations could learn and move forward.

Worship and Mission are the twin pillars upon which the Church is built. The one is dependent on the other; worship inspires us for mission and missional engagement, in all its forms, informs our worship.

Joining Dr Fair and Rev Rosie Frew on the day were:

  • Sue Thomson, a member of the Faith Nurture Forum and a schools worker in Aberdeen.
  • Rev Joanne Hood, minister at St John’s in Hamilton, who reflected on how the worshipping life of her congregation has been transformed as a result of lockdown
  • Neil MacLennan, session clerk at St. Andrew’s Bo’ness
