Rev Dorothy Wallace Advent 2021
For the 19th day of Advent, Rev Dorothy Wallace, minister for the Parish of West Loch Fyneside, has written a prayer on our theme for this year — Light in the Darkness.

Lord,
We wait in anticipation of the greatest gift;
The gift of light and truth.
The gift that lasts for all eternity,
In a world where so much is transient.

We wait in a world where many are fumbling;
Fumbling blindly in the darkness,
Looking for, what?
They so often do not know.

Let those of us who have witnessed the light;
Those who have heard Your message,
And rejoiced in Your word,
Take that light into the world.

Let us all be lights to those who walk in dark places.
Let us take Your message of truth and hope,
Of peace and love into shadows,
And let the whole world glow in Your word.
We offer our prayer always,
In Your precious name,
Amen
