VIDEO "Everyone has a part to play in tackling social isolation and loneliness"

The Church has welcomed a new Scottish Government strategy to tackle social isolation and loneliness.

Members of the Scottish Parliament debated the issue this afternoon and the Church and Society Council said it is acutely aware of the increasing demographic within society who are isolated.

“We celebrate the role of the church in supporting people in spirit, mind and body."

Narrator, Calum Strang of the Church and Society Council, explains the Church's perspective on the issue and provides some examples of how the Kirk is reaching out to support people in need.

The Church and Society Council, in partnership with the Scottish Churches Parliamentary Office, submitted a briefing to MSPs ahead of the debate.
