Prayers for Israel and Palestine
The 24th of the month has become synonymous with prayers for peace around the world. Before Covid, Christian Aid, the Church of Scotland and ecumenical partners led an almost monthly prayer vigil for peace in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, visiting different churches in Scotland.
Now the idea is being revived online.
On the 24 October, 7-8:30 pm, join Christian Aid Scotland and some of our Scottish church partners online as we pray for peace in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
The vigil will include input from Nadia Giol and Rev Muriel Pearson, Church of Scotland Mission Partner, based in Tiberias, Israel.
Both Muriel and Nadia are interested in non-violent communication or NVC. Nadia is training as certificated NVC teacher.
Nadia is a Palestinian Israeli Peacemaker and Social Activist. She works as co-manager and principal facilitator of the Visitors' Centre at Sindyanna of the Galilee. Sindyanna is an NGO working with Arab and Jewish women as a fair trade producer of olive oil and other products such as honey, carob and soap.
She is a professional trainer and facilitator for multicultural groups in a variety of topics: Non-violent Communication, environmental education, listening circles and self-awareness.
Muriel serves the congregation of St Andrew's Jerusalem and Tiberias, is chaplain to the Scots Hotel and to Tabeetha School in Jaffa and works with partner organisations in Israel-Palestine to highlight their work in Scotland through blogging and partner letters. Muriel is on the board of Place For Hope and has an interest in NVC, person-centred listening, and in the capacity of individuals to choose peace with justice, and collaborate with others.
