Overview
The Scottish Government are providing funding to work with up to nine congregations across three local authority areas to develop and support participatory budgeting, enabling local expertise and practice and encouraging the mainstreaming of high quality participatory budgeting. The project will support the development of partnership work in each local authority area between congregations and the relevant local authority staff.
Within this fixed-term post you will work with 9 congregations across Scotland to develop their understanding of participatory budgeting (for more information see: www.pbscotland.scot) and to support them in running a participatory budgeting exercise in their local neighbourhood. Key tasks will include the co-ordination of externally provided training, supporting churches in the development of participatory budgeting; supporting the development of partnership working with local authorities; and representing the Church and Society Council in meetings with partners and funders.
An effective communicator with the ability to enthuse and motivate others you will be comfortable using your initiative and managing your own workload to meet exacting deadlines. Additionally you will be highly numerate with the ability to manage a small budget.
