This role presents a unique opportunity for a recently qualified accountant with experience of managing small teams to join one of Scotland's largest charities.

The job holder will be a member of the senior management team in the Stewardship and Finance Department with particular responsibility for the financial management of the Mission & Discipleship Council, Support & Services departments and other councils and committees as required.

This role requires the job holder to attend various committee meetings with senior managers in a broad spread of operational areas which include publishing, education and community engagement, so excellent communication skills are essential, especially in communicating financial information to non-finance professionals. The Mission & Discipleship Council are forward focussed, so the job holder should be able to meet requirements for management accounting as well as forecasting and budgeting for future periods.

The job holder will advise on all financial matters relevant to the Council and Support & Services

Departments, including preparation of business cases as required.

The role requires managing a team of two staff. Experience in managing relationships with insurance providers and some knowledge of VAT (including partial exemption) would be advantageous.
