The church building itself is located in an elevated position, overlooking the village with views out to the Galloway Hills and the Solway Firth. Borgue is a small village situated approximately five miles south west of Kirkcudbright. The Parish of Borgue, including the rural hinterland, has a population of about 350 and the village itself about 250.
