PRAYER FOCUS

The World Mission Council produces Prayer Focus prayer materials as part of both the weekly UPDATE email newsletter and their magazine publication WM. The prayers concentrate on world issues, the world church and specifically concern the work of our partner churches and mission partners, as well as congregations in Scotland.

Heavenly Father, amid all the challenges
of a changing world,
help us to learn the new ways
You would have us tread;
and along every unknown path,
give us the courage to follow the example of Jesus,
the same Saviour, yesterday, today and forever.
Amen.

Prayer from Uganda


Lord,
You come to us in neighbours we do not know
and are unlikely to meet.
You come to us when people’s needs are measured in statistics,
Argued about in political programmes,
Or estimated in development plans.
Give us the grace to see past numbers to the real lives behind them.
So that we might, with you, build your kingdom.
Amen.
