INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the world church gateway page on the Church
of Scotland website. The Church is committed to working
with partners, both ecumenically and interfaith, across
the world. The following links will take you to sections
of this site where you can find out about our work,
mission and faith in these areas:
World Mission
World Mission is the channel through which the Church
of Scotland responds to the command: "Go into
all the world and preach the good news to all creation"
(Mark16:15). The council works in many countries
worldwide, usually on the basis of partnership with
national churches and institutions, and always with
a view to involving church members in Scotland.

Our mission is to empower everyone
to discover, experience and share the challenges
and opportunities gained by connecting with the
World Church.

Ecumenical Relations Committee
Ecumenism is about different branches of the Church
in Scotland, and indeed Christians around the world,
working together locally and in unity as part of
a global Christian movement. The Ecumenical Relations
Committee leads the Church in its work and partnerships
with other Christian organisations throughout Scotland,
the United Kingdom, Europe and indeed the world.
As part of the universal Church, we believe that
God calls us to celebrate and move towards visible
unity, to strive to work more closely with our Christian
sisters and brothers in Scotland and throughout
the world. Click

Committee. |

Church and Society Council
The Church and Society Council engages with, and comments
upon, a range of political and social issues on behalf
of the Church, many of which have an international aspect.
For example, the council has been very vocal in its support
for the Make Poverty History campaign, has raised its
concerned about so-called rendition flights allegedly
undertaken by the US government on UK soil, the political
situations in Burma and Iraq and the continuing crisis
in Darfur. For the latest updates on the work of the council
and its responses to major international events, click
