Creation Time

Over the dates of 2 September – 14 October Starters for Sunday will feature materials for worship focusing on the ‘Creation Time’ season theme of ‘Sustainable Energy’.

We aim to provide resources that offer thoughts for sermon preparation, fully written prayers and poems, music suggestions and ideas for participative worship. These seven weeks of materials will depart from the Revised Common Lectionary (and so is usable by churches who do not follow the lectionary) and follow a series based on the seven days of Creation described in Genesis 1.

Each Sunday will focus on what God created that day and explore it from the perspective of the ‘Sustainable Energy’ theme.  The themes for the seven days are:

• Day 2 Air
• Day 3 Food
• Day 4 Seasons
• Day 5 Water
• Day 6 Enough for all people
• Day 7 Recycling and Restoring

We hope that you find these materials helpful in exploring issues of climate care and sustainability in ways that are reflective, prayerful and transformational.
