World Mission Council Exposure Visit to Cuba

In February, World Mission Council's Twinning & Development Secretary lead a group of eight from various congregations to Cuba. The visit was to our partner church, the Presbyterian Reformed Church of Cuba. Their General Secretary Rev Daniel Izquierdo Hernandez mooted the idea of this visit two years ago when he came to attend the General Assembly. The ideal grew during the visit to the Caribbean, last year, of the Moderator. Very Rev Dr Lorna Hood.

The group were able to meet with congregations in various parts of the island and to hear and see the work of the church. Despite being a small church, their social outreach into the community is extensive.

It is hoped that from this visit twinnings and other links will emerge and people in Scotland will become more informed about the situation in Cuba.
