“Every day there are moments you can look back and smile on”
Rev Stella Campbell of Skene Parish Church in Aberdeenshire talks about running worship at a local care home, finding ways to communicate with people, and what makes ministry worthwhile.
“I was worshipping in a church in London and I found that what I did on a Sunday through the church I loved more than what I was doing during the week.
“On a monthly basis we take a short service in our local care home, Pitcairn Lodge near Aberdeen. They’re always excited to see us, which is fantastic.
“We find that through our worship we can connect with people who perhaps struggle to communicate.
“I think if you feel a sense of calling in your heart then you need to know it won’t go away, you can’t run away from it.
“Every day there are moments you can look back and smile on and see something happening that’s a sign of God at work. It’s the best job in the world.”
