Scottish Storytelling Centre nominated for award

The Scottish Storytelling Centre has been nominated for Venue of the Year at the 13th MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards.
The winners will be announced at a Gala Concert on 5 December. 2015 at Dundee Caird Hall. The other nominees for Venue of the Year are: Glassel Hall, Banchory; Lyth Arts Centre; and SEALL at Sabhal Mor Ostaig.
Voting is now open to the general public. So if you have listened to traditional music over the last 12 months and have a favourite artist, album or venue, you can have a say in who wins the awards. You can vote here.
The centre is next door to John Knox House on the Royal Mile. The Church ofScotland's Mission and Discipleship Council and TRACS are jointly involved in therunning of the Centre.
Staff at the Storytelling Centre say they are thrilled to be nominated in the Venue of the Year category, as the Centre strives to showcase the best of tradition for a 21st century audience.
Daniel Abercrombie, Programme and Events Manager at the Scottish Storytelling Centre stated:
