Congregational video shoot competition begins
Published on 5 June, 2017
Congregations across Scotland are being urged to produce videos that share inspirational stories from their communities.
The Mission and Discipleship Council’s ‘Show and Tell’ video campaign asks people to get together to produce a short video of around three minutes that highlights a story of how they have interacted with their community.
Rev Norman Smith, convener of the Mission and Discipleship Council, said: ““Everyone loves a good story and especially a story that inspires others.
“By working with churches across the country we in Mission and Discipleship have seen first-hand lots of amazing things that congregations are doing.
“They are great stories just waiting to be told. The aim of Show and Tell is to encourage congregations to share these stories so that we might inspire each other in what God is doing among us.”
Share with wider church
Rob Rawson, who is leading the project, said: “Those that meet that criteria will be shared with the wider church on our website and the very best entry will win a prize. You may have a great story to tell, but feel a lack of video skills. Do not worry, as we will accept videos recorded on tablets or smartphones and we are not necessarily looking for clever camera angles or slick editing - just good information, imagination and inspiration.”
By September 29, please send a DVD of your video to:
Mission & Discipleship,
121 George Street,
Edinburgh EH2 4YN
Please ensure you enclose the name of your congregation, a brief note of its story and a name and address so we can return the DVD.
