Reflection from Rev Syd Graham, Church of Scotland at the service in Perth Crematorium for Billy and Lisa Graham 12.00 Monday July 13
"Billy and Lisa had a lovely relationship and life together at Bankfoot with their much loved daughter Holly and Bailey Boy, the mini longhaired Daschund who earned a special place in their family life.
They created and enjoyed a beautiful home in Bankfoot and worked hard in our community.
We give thanks for family life in Couper Angus and Perth.
Perth Grammar and especially the enchanted evenings at the Wheelhouse Hotel, Scone that sparked their relationship with each other and their much loved daughter beloved Holly.
Like biblical Ruth where Billy went Lisa went too and they always found their place as an admired and respected family.
Twenty-two years loyally serving us and their Queen and Country in 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards, who are with us today, as the Royal Dragoon Guards. Family life as a service family was special wherever they were deployed including Germany and Northern Ireland.
Work at the factory shop, after school clubs, the nursery, Community Care with Council and security firms like Chubb, vigilant Billy's work at Perth St Johnstone where the importance of dedicated team work spreads beyond the pitch.
Providing for 7 years a warm smiling welcome at the turnstiles for our family Club where 6000 fans from Scotland and Armenia made their admiration, respect and support to the family known in silence and spontaneous applause last Thursday.
Billy and Lisa loved the special time of their holidays and breaks together in the sun. Working hard to return to Tunisia to celebrate Lisa's special Birthday
We are absolutely devastated and it is outrageous what happened to them as they enjoyed a well-earned rest in the sun at a favourite place.
But love is eternal and stronger than death and no irrational act of man's inhumanity to man can ever defeat the power of love.
Billy, Lisa and Holly's beautifully crafted and cherished garden prominently displays a heart flower holder and comes to life at night with many solar powered fairy lights lightening the darkness.
Reflecting the stored internalised light of the sun when darkness appears.
Ten days ago the community gathered in the local play park in a massive vigil, lighting candles to curse the darkness and making a stand of showing support to Billy and Lisa's witness of light.
Let there be no doubt the light of the world shines on in the darkness.
Darkness has never succeeded in snuffing it and will never overcome it.
So Billy and Lisa as you pass through a different welcoming turnstile to join the great crowd of witnesses who cheer us on, we hope to internalise and deflect and reflect the power of love of the
Light of the World, We promise dedicated loyal team work with something of your courage humour and integrity.
The light indeed shines on the darkness."
