Guild week showcases its fundraising work

The Church of Scotland Guild offers prayerfulsupport and practical help to six projects each three years.
Perth North Church is hosting a songs of praiseservice on Friday as part of the annual Guild week. The Guild has actively beensupporting Mary's Meals in Liberia, Comfort Rwanda, and Out of Africa in Malta,Passage from India, the Julius Project and CrossReach's Heart for Art project.
Guild week is an opportunity for Church of ScotlandGuilds up and down the country to showcase their range of work to their localcongregations and communities.
Members are renowned for their loyalty and supportto worthwhile projects, with over 2,000 attending the Guild's annual generalmeeting at the Caird Hall, Dundee in September, to celebrate the life and workof the Guild. The focus of the Guildmeeting was its theme for 2014-15, "A World to Serve" the third and final strandof the Guild's three-year strategy, "Whose we are and whom we serve."
The Guild is credited with being the "backbone" ofthe Church of Scotland and their 23,000 plus membership raised over £511,000for the six partner organisations in the present cycle.
Friday's service at Perth North Church is expectedto be attended by over 200 people. A collection will be made for the DEC Ebolaappeal. The service begins at 2pm.
