Moderator to meet with Scotland's major politicians on annual visit to Parliament
The Right Reverend
Sheilagh Kesting, Moderator of the General
Assembly of the Church of Scotland, will make
the traditional annual visit to the Scottish Parliament
this week (29 - 31 January) where she will meet,
and discuss a variety of issues with, the leaders
of the main political parties in Scotland.

During her visit to the Scottish Parliament the Moderator
will meet individually with First
Minister Alex Salmond, Annabel Goldie, Robin Harper,
Wendy Alexander and Nicol Stephen.
A major part of the discussions will focus on poverty
and homelessness, both
in Scotland and on an international level. The Moderator
will attend the parliamentary debate on the Scottish
Government's anti-poverty strategy on Wednesday afternoon,
and she will discuss the work of the church in the most
deprived areas of Scotland with the Parliament's Local
Government & Communities Committee on Tuesday.
These issues will also be highlighted in Time
For Reflection when the Moderator will address
the whole of the Scottish Parliament in what is an eagerly
awaited annual event.
