The Moderator

The Right Rev John Christie is the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland from May 2010 to May 2011.

July - August 2010

13 July

The Moderator will be recording a radio interview with Douglas Aitken, then will be a guest at the Royal Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

14 July

The Moderator will be a guest at a reception to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

15 July

Attending a service in St Giles for the installation of a Knight of the Thistle.

17 July

Attending a service celebrating 50 years of the Scottish Churches House, Dunblane.

Late July – early August

The Moderator and Mrs Christie will be making a private visit to Oberammergau.

8 August

The Moderator will be preaching at Kinghorn at a service marking the 25th anniversary of ordination of its parish minister, Rev Jim Reid.

9 August

The Moderator will take the Salute at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

13 August

Attending the opening concert of the Edinburgh Festival.

15 August

Preaching at Beith High at a service celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Church bulding.

16 – 27 August

Visit to Shetland Presbytery.

28 August

The Moderator is one of the keynote speakers at the Guild Annual Meeting.

29 August

Preaching at St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh.

31 August

The Moderator will be speaking at the Candidates' conference.
