ASSEMBLY ARRANGEMENTS COMMITTEE

Introduction

The Assembly Arrangements Committee makes all the necessary arrangements for the annual General Assembly and advises the Moderator on his or her official duties.

The committee is also responsible for the care and maintenance of the Assembly Hall and the Moderator's official residence in Edinburgh and for all arrangements in connection with letting the General Assembly Hall. You can find out more about how to hire the Assembly Hall, in partnership with Edinburgh First, on our mainsite here.

Consultation about the General Assembly

Following a number of changes to the General Assembly over recent years, the Assembly Arrangements Committee felt that this would now be a good time to consult the Church more widely on the role and style of the General Assembly. This proposal was accepted by the Assembly in May this year.

An extract from the Assembly Arrangements Committee' report about the consultation, and the pro-forma for completion by Presbyteries and Kirk Sessions are available to download below. Responses are requested by the end of December 2008.

The documents are available to download below in Word [.doc], or PDF [.pdf] formats.
