Salary scales for organist
The revised form of contract for the employment of an organist
now available from the Law Department leaves the figures for
the salary scale blank. To download a copy of the contract please

here. From time to time, the Scottish Federation of Organists
offers a recommended salary scale which the committee is pleased
to endorse.

2009 Year of Homecoming
The Year of Homecoming is an opportunity for congregations to affirm the vision of the Church of Scotland to visitors from near and far "to be a church which inspires the people of Scotland and beyond with the Good News of Jesus Christ through enthusiastic, worshipping, witnessing, nurturing and serving communities." Introduction to the Church of Scotland leaflet
A new leaflet was produced in 2008 that briefly outlines the history and work of the Church of
Scotland. Copies are available (free) from the Communications Adviser, Jennie Rutte on 0131 225 5722 or jrutte@cofscotland.org.uk.
Annual Review
The 2009 annual review will have a homecoming theme and will be distributed in May. Congregations and presbyteries are invited to submit stories about projects and in particular those about initiatives reaching out into communities, to the Communication Adviser, Jennie Rutte, jrutte@cofscotland.org.uk.
Grants scheme
The Mission and Discipleship Council is providing a small grants scheme for help with events during 2009. Full details from Donald Smith, email Donald@scottishstorytellingcentre.com.
Scotland's Churches Scheme
Scotland's Churches Scheme is launching a new website, Sacred Scotland, in time for the Year of Homecoming and featuring nearly 1,200 churches from across Scotland. Churches who join the Scheme can have their own page on the website with their contact details and other information, along with a link to their own website if they have one.
