NEWS AND EVENTS

Publications

We offer two free news publications for you to read, reproduce and share with your congregations and mission partners.

  • UPDATE, delivered by email weekly, provides the latest news about issues affecting the world church, a diary of events around Scotland and prayer requests from our partner churches and mission partners.
  • WM, our free magazine, published six times a year, provides detailed articles on the work of our partner churches and mission partners, as well as congregations in Scotland.

Click here to find out how to join our mailing list to access these resources.

As a supplement to our news publications, this web page provides Background Briefings. These are longer versions of articles, and additional background documents for news items, which appear in WM magazine and UPDATE.

World Mission Council also records audio items. These are occasional news items and features for this website and for radio broadcast, transmitted by stations both in Scotland and abroad. The audio is also available for use by churches and schools.

WM

WM Aug-Sept 2010 : Minority Christians

Many of our partners worldwide are Christians who are living in complex and difficult situations, sometimes where Christianity is very much a minority religion. The latest issue of WM hears from some of these people and updates us about life today for Christians in Palestine, Nepal, Nigeria, India and Bangladesh. WM's Prayer Focus page also provides resources for both prayer and action.

>> One of WM's contributors is Elijah Obinna, a theology and sociology student, and a minister with the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria. You can hear an audio interview with Elijah on this page here.
