PUBLISHING

Overview

The Publishing Committee of the Mission and Discipleship Council oversees the financial management of the Church's award-winning magazine, Life & Work; the overall work of Saint Andrew Press, the Kirk's publishing house; and the monthly publication Ministers' Forum.

Its remit includes taking all related commercial decisions with regards Saint Andrew Press and to monitor pricing and delivery of published material to councils and use by councils of the publishing house. The committee is also responsible for monitoring the cost of printing by councils and to make recommendations to the Council of Assembly on whether this should be outsourced.

Life & Work

Life & Work: front cover and link to this month's issue Life & Work is the 127-year-old editorially independent monthly magazine from the Church. The glossy magazine aims to educate, inform and stimulate debate amongst its readers, It it uniquely distinctive in that it strives to not simply reflect the 'official' views of the Church.

Saint Andrew Press

Saint Andrew Press, which has amalgamated with the former Board of Parish Education's Scottish Christian Press publishing house, aims to resource parishes, engage with the life of the Church and read the widest Photo of Ann Crawford, head of publishing
possible range of readers. Catalogue bestsellers include The Church of Scotland Year Book, the William Barclay series, Pray Now and A Feast of Graces.

Ministers' Forum

Ministers' Forum was founded in 1978. It is edited by the Rev John Ferguson and is circulated every month among Church of Scotland ministers to offer an opportunity to engage in a wide range of debates about all aspects of the ministries.
