Church of Scotland – Priority Area Parishes List
November 2007

The Church of Scotland Priority Area Parishes List comprises of the most economically deprived parishes in Scotland.
The original list (2004) was compiled using data from the 2001 National Census (through the Board of National Mission’s Statistics for Mission Project) and was based on an analysis of that data, using the 2003 Scottish Indicators of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD). The list was revised in November 2007 to take account of the 2006 SIMD. The analysis, on both occasions, was carried out on behalf of the Priority Areas Committee by the Scottish Centre for Research on Social Justice (SCRSJ).
