The Guild GUILD ALIVE 2005: THE GUILD ANNUAL MEETING Programme 10.30am to 10.45am Welcome and opening worship Led by the national convener of the Guild, Norah Summers, and includes the hymn Christ is alive. 10.45am to 11.05am The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Right Rev David Lacy. 11.10am to 11.30am The Mary Slessor Foundation perform some pieces from their repertoire. The following hymn is Brother, sister let me serve you (Common Ground 16). 11.30am to 12.05pm Keynote speaker, Elish Angolini, reflects on her work as solicitor general. This is followed by the hymn Great is thy faithfulness. 12.10pm to 12.20pm Guild general secretary, Alison Twaddle, introduces a news slot with intimations. 12.20pm to 12.30pm The offering is uplifted, and dedicated with prayer and the hymn, Great God, your love. Norah Summers says Grace before the meeting breaks for lunch. 2pm to 2.05pm Returning from lunch, those assembled sing the hymn O Jesus, I have promised. 2.05 to 2.40pm Bob Holman reflects on his work. The next hymn is Jesus Christ is waiting. 2.50pm to 3.20pm Retiring convener, Elspeth Dale, along with retiring committee conveners, are thanked and presented with small gifts. Elspeth then introduces a section on Guild Week, which takes the form of a conversation between Fiona Punton, information officer, and three guild members. 3.20pm to 3.30pm Closing remarks from Norah Summers will be followed by worship led by national vice convener Lesley McCorkindale. The meeting will be adjourned following the singing of the hymn Go forth and tell, and a closing blessing from Norah Summers.
