National Conversation

First Minister Alex Salmond launched a "national conversation" on Scotland's future. To encourage church members to be part of this conversation the Church and Society Council has produced a set of discussion cards. We plan to have a national gathering in the spring to hear your responses.

Human Trafficking Resource Pack

picture of resource pack This contains information, discussion topics and worship material which can help individuals and groups to understand and respond to the issues of 'Human Trafficking'.
These were highlighted in a report to the General Assembly 2007. The pack was prepared jointly by the Guild, World Mission Council and the Church and Society Council.

Fair Food Resources

picture of food This report highlights the need to support Fair Trade for the developing world. It also emphasises that our local producers in Scotland struggle
against trade regulations which cause many farmers to go out of business. The message is to ‘buy local’ and ‘buy fair trade’ whenever possible.

Resources are available in different versions:

The full report: this is a detailed 44 page report examining issues relating to the production and trade of food. It deals with international trade justice, justice for Scottish producers and fairness to consumers.

Just Church Resources

How just is your church? These resources consist of 12 modules which can be adapted to suit house groups, youth groups, guilds and church services.

The material could be used for a single evening focussing on justice or it could provide a six month programme. Modules could be selected to use as a Lent theme for 2008.

This excellent resource is available to download free from:www.justchurch.info

A DVD with multimedia resources and extra support material is also available and printed copies can be ordered for a small charge.
