OFFICE MANAGEMENT
Remit
The Office Manager's Department is responsible for the
day-to-day running of the Church Offices at 121 George
Street, Edinburgh.
The department's remit also includes:
- management of a maintenance budget for the upkeep
of the Church Offices;
- responsibility for all aspects of health and safety
for staff, visitors and contractors working in the
building;
- managing a team of staff providing the offices with
security, reception, mail room, print room, switchboard,
day-to-day maintenance services and committee room
bookings; and
- overseeing all sub-contracted services to include
catering, cleaning, boiler-room maintenance, intruder
alarm, fire alarms and lift.
Design Services
The Office Manager's Department also has responsibility
for the Church's Design Department, which is led by head
of department Peter Forrest. The in-house agency provides
high-quality design, layout and print management services
to the Church of Scotland at very competitive rates.
