The website has gone from strength to strength in recent years with 2005 seeing the website's hit rate (individual page impressions) top 2.5 million. That represented a 46 per cent increase in visits from 2004, which itself was already a substantial increase on the previous year's hits.

The Media Relations Unit team

The team is led by head of media relations, Pat Holdgate, with senior press officer, Grant MacLennan, and press officer, Gordon Bell.

The website and extranet is also managed and updated on a daily basis by the Media Relations Unit.
