GENERAL TREASURER'S DEPARTMENT

Remit

The General Treasurer's Department of the Church of Scotland is responsible for managing the financial accounts of the organisation.

This involves, on behalf of the Stewardship and Finance Committee, providing congregations with their annual requirement figures for the Church's Parish Ministries Fund and the Mission and Renewal Fund, and receiving payments from congregations.

Banking and accountancy

The General Treasurer's team also has a remit from the General Assembly to provide the banking facilities on behalf of the Church's councils and statutory corporations as well as the accountancy systems for the councils, corporations and the Church's pension schemes.
Gift Aid logo Part of this work also includes making VAT, tax and Gift Aid recoveries. Visit the Stewardship and Finance Committee pages for more information on how Gift Aid can make a real difference to your donations to the Church if you are a UK taxpayer
