INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Assembly Arrangements Committee, which
is one of six autonomous committees of the Support
and Services Council.
Remit
The remit of the Assembly Arrangements Committee is simply
to make all the necessary arrangements for the annual
General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. This involves
advising the Moderator on his or her official duties where
required and the care and maintenance of the Moderator's
official residence in Edinburgh's New Town.

The General Assembly, 2005
The committee is also charged with conducting an annual
review of progress made in discharging its remit and
provide a written report to the Support and Services
Council.
Letting the Assembly Hall
| The committee's role also involves
responsibility for the care and maintenance of the
Assembly Hall, on Edinburgh's historic High Street,
which includes all arrangements in letting the General
Assembly Hall as a major conference and events venue
in association with Edinburgh First. |

availability of the Assembly Hall as a venue for your

As with the other committees of the Support and Services
Council, the Assembly Arrangements Committee reports
directly to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland
and not via the council. Click
