Drop-in youth facility, Garelochhead
In Garelochhead, a drop-in youth facility developed by the young people of the village in partnership with the church and the local community trust. 
"The project represents a risk for us as a church because our primary concern and emphasis in being involved in this project is not on sharing our faith or direct evangelism, or on getting young people into church. Our concern is to serve and meet the needs of young people in the community and to work for their physical, mental and spiritual well-being in a place and situation owned by young people themselves. Without controlling the environment, sharing the Gospel becomes for us an expression of love, of service, of concern for just opportunities for young people and by letting the Gospel bear its own witness through the Christians involved…
"Since we began working on this project together, we have…hosted a number of youth events to canvass the opinions of young people locally, conducted a questionnaire survey of every young person within our target age range in the community and, at every stage, sought to be inclusive and to consult as widely as possible…"
