SOUPER SUNDAY
Good news about Souper Sunday!
|
Souper Sunday was a special Sunday held on 10 January 2010, focussing on HIV and food. Presbyteries and congregations were invited to hold an elder-led service, followed by a |
simple soup and bread lunch, on that particular Sunday if possible.
Just a month after the first Souper Sundays were held, we are delighted to report that already over £50,000 has been sent in to the Church of Scotland HIV/AIDS Project Office. This magnificent response is both humbling and inspiring. Thanks to the generosity of church congregations around the country giving of their time, talents and money, we will be able to support vital projects in response to the global HIV pandemic.
We know that some churches have still to hold their Souper Sunday and we hope that they will be inspired by the success of those which have already been held. This is indeed good news, not just for the Church of Scotland, but for all who are infected or affected by HIV. Thank you!
Read some of the feedback below from some of the churches which have already held their Souper Sunday or visit www.soupersunday.info.
The good news is that it's not too late for your church to take part. Visit www.soupersunday.info. to find out how you can get involved.
