the promise
Around 40 million people are living with HIV throughout
the world - and that number increases in every region
every day. In the UK alone, more than 60,000 people are
living with HIV and more than 7,000 more are diagnosed
every year.

World AIDS Day, held on 1 December
each year, is an opportunity for people around the
world to unite in the fight against HIV and AIDS.

AIDS Kit
First AIDS Kit is the HIV/AIDS Project
information leaflet with pictures and information
about the work the HIV/AIDS Project supports around
the world and in Scotland, complete with tear-off
donation slip.
When ordering for your congregations, Guild, school
or youth group, please include £2 per 50 leaflets
for postage. |

HIV Scotland is an HIV voluntary sector policy and support
organisation, providing HIV information and advice.
As the leading HIV policy organisation, HIV Scotland
gives the views and expertise of voluntary organisations
the authority of an independent and collective voice.

Impact AIDS is an Edinburgh-based campaign for improved
treatment for AIDS in resource-poor countries.

Positive Voice is a community self help organisation

Health Protection Scotland (HPS) was established
by the Scottish Executive to strengthen and co-ordinate
health protection in Scotland. HPS came into existence
on 11 November 2004. Health Protection Scotland took
over the functions of the Scottish Centre for Infection
and Environmental Health (SCIEH) and is responsible
for the national surveillance of communicable diseases
and environmental health hazards and the provision of
expert operational support on infection and environmental
health to health boards and local authorities in Scotland.

ANERELA+ is the African Network of Religious Leaders

The Uk's all-party parliamentary group on AIDS is
concerned about both the devastation that HIV/AIDS is

UK that affects constituents. It seeks to allow UK MPs

The Strategies for Hope series, founded in 1989 by the
British non-governmental organisation, ActionAid, aims

Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) was one of the first English
charities to be set up in response to the HIV epidemic
and has been at the forefront of the fight against HIV
and AIDS ever since. It is the largest voluntary organisation
service-provider in England and their site also contains

has recently taken over some services in Aberdeen, Glasgow
and Inverness.
