INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the central opportunities
pages of the Church of Scotland where you can find out
how to work or volunteer with the Church.
There are many ways to work with the Church. You may
sense a call into the ministry or to become a deacon.
You may wish to serve as a volunteer in Scotland or
internationally. Alternatively, you might work in one
of the many professional, technical or support jobs
that are essential in order to maintain the Church of
Scotland's many commitments and interests.
There are several different employing agencies within the Church of Scotland which are outlined below.

Central Services Committee
The Central Services Committee oversees the delivery of
services to departments within the Church Offices and,
where appropriate, to presbyteries and congregations.
These include office management, IT, human resources,
financial, legal, property, media relations and design
services.

CrossReach
 CrossReach
is the Church of Scotland's social care agency which provides
care and support services. CrossReach employs more than
2,000 staff in 80 services stretching from Shetland to
the Borders.

Ministries Council
 |
The Ministries Council carries out
recruitment, training and support of recognised
ministries. It is also involved in the planning
and deployment of ministers across our parishes
and presbyteries. |

The call to ministry within the Church of Scotland
can take a variety of forms. The recognised ministries
are ordained ministers of Word and Sacrament - both
full-time and auxiliary - deacons, readers, elders and
chaplains.

World Mission Council
| The World Mission Council works in
countries around the world including Malawi, Zambia,
Bangladesh, Nepal, China, Israel/Palestine and Pakistan,

usually on the basis of partnership with local churches and institutions and
always with a view to involving church members in Scotland in the development of the work.

Volunteering
