* This page can be accessed using the assessibility links found on every page throughout the site. The accessibility link will be heard as the first link, last link, and just before the main text which starts with "Printer version" on most pages.
* On opening this page you will be presented with a choice of five link options within the page menu.
* The first is a quick reference to the site's most popular pages such as the daily prayer, newsroom etc.
* The second is to a alphabetical listing of all the boards and committees of the Church main pages. The boards and committees of the Church of Scotland employ over 2000 staff to deliver a hugh range of services in Scotland and throughout the world, examples being the board of World Mission and board of Ministry, etc.
* The third link is to a listing of all the main sections of the site. As there are many links here, to help navigate is an alphabetical index and links are followed by brief outline of each section.
* More information regarding how the site is structured can be found in this help section under Church web site structure which can be accessed using the fourth link within the page menu.
* You will also find an easier search engine to the site in section five of this page.

* The Church of Scotland is a large organisation reflected in the size of the web site which currently contains 1,000 pages backed up by some several thousand supporting files, images, word documents and rich text downloads. As there are so many, it is often difficult to find the required information without knowing how it is organised. The site is structured into many sections and sub-sections. The main sections currently available alphabetically are as follows.

* To help navigate though the pages, here is a brief outline as to how pages are constructed based on the new template introduced, summer 2003.
* Every page has a similar structure. For ease of use, the first link is "Accessibility" which brings you to this page. This link is repeated just before the main text (except on the home page) and also is the very last link on the page.
* The second link on each page is entitled "Text readers". For most text readers, clicking this button will move you straight into the main text content of that particular page, skipping many central navigation links which you can ignore.
* Ignoring these first two links will take you through a series of main navigation links, twenty or so. These links are on all pages to help visual users. The reason being is that there are numerous entry points to the site not just the home page. On the home page there is an additional list of quick links before the start of the main text. These links can be ignored by a text-to-speech reader user as they are listed on this page in a more simplified format.
* When you go to a page within a particular section, after the main text there will be an "In this section" heading followed by a listing of links to related pages within that section accordingly.
* Finally, at the end of each page there is a bottom navigation bar starting with contact us and ending with an accessibility link back to this page.

* We would like your suggestions as to how we can help users from all walks of life use web technologies for the better. Under the umbrella of "Accessibility for all", this initiative is intended to help open this web site to all users. Suggestions so far are to have an online meeting place to share experiences of the Church, and life experience generally. You could suggest particular information which may be helpful to you or your family and/or friends. Please send your suggestions along with your contact details by post, email or audio cassette to:
